Description
(x Citrofortunella microcarpa)
The Calamondin cumquat is sometimes referred to as ‘the Australian cumquat’. It’s a highly decorative tree with lovely dense foliage and small, round orange fruit. The fruit is quite tart, so it’s predominantly used to make preserves or as flavouring for dressings and drinks.
They can be quite a vigorous grower, reaching 4 – 6m tall in good conditions, though they do respond well to pruning and make a good-looking hedging option, or they can live happily in a pot as a topiary tree.
We also have larger trees available. Get in touch for details.
